On Tuesday 18th November Hednesford Town Council were pleased to be able to relocate 3 Granny Smith apple trees from their temporary place outside the Pye Green Community Centre to their new home at Pye Green Academy.
Funded by UKSPF it was hoped to place these within, and develop a community garden within Hednesford, however due to unexpected changes in how the Government administered the fund this became untenable, and alternative plans had to be made.
A Spokesperson from Pye Green Academy informed “Pye Green Academy have had an amazing donation of three Granny Smith’s apple trees from Hednesford Town Council. These have been planted by the wonderful John Manning, Project Officer Support, who went above and beyond to help us dig the ground and plant these trees. We are very much looking forward to watching these trees grown and tasting their fruit. Thank you very much Hednesford Town Council for all of your support to our school”
