Huge thank you to Cannock Chase District Council for the recent makeover of the clock tower in Anglesey Gardens
We had hoped to carry out a revamp using UKSP funds last year before they were recalled and were recently looking to utilise CIL funding to bring the clock tower back to its best but now it has been done we are looking for other actions we can use the CIL funds for
CIL – or Community Infrastructure Levy Funds – is money collected from new developments in the Cannock Chase District. The funding is used to help pay for local improvements and other infrastructure that supports growing communities making our area a fantastic place in which to live, work, play and visit. Hednesford Town Council receives 25% of CIL monies collected in Hednesford with the remainder being retained by Cannock Chase District
At the Hednesford full council meeting on Thursday 24th September we will start and share some of the ideas we have been exploring on how the CIL funds could be used from cleaning heritage items, to providing better facilities at your community centre through to purchasing items for youth activities in Hednesford
If you have some ideas on what you think the funds can be used for then please let us know in the comments below or by emailing clerk@hednesford-tc.gov.uk or you are welcome to attend the meeting on 24th at 6.30pm at Pye Green Community Centre and share your ideas during the public participation section
